This weekend Ryan and Christine tied the knot in Bradenton Florida, and it was up to us to bring their funky, eclectic, home-spun taste to life in their gorgeous décor. And we had a very limited budget so it was quite a challenge, but we’re always up for a challenge.
With a color palette of golden yellow and sage green with accents of black, and knowing the bride favored sunflowers and daisies, we had a great starting point. The bride carried a hand-wrapped bouquet featuring sunflowers, white mums, and mini daisies (which was a perfect accessory with her handmade champagne dress and beaded bracelet from her recent trip to South Africa.)
The reception took place at the historic Manatee Central building in Bradenton, with rustic exposed brick walls and sunny windows throughout. We anchored the guest tables with black linens to compliment the black chairs on site. We then placed silk printed table runners (courtesy of the bride’s mom) on alternating tables for an extra punch of color. Centerpieces consisted of a cluster of bubble-textured bud vases (only $.79 each!!!) bursting with fresh daisies and mums from a local flower market. Green vintage egg-cup-style candleholders flickered below the floral arrangements.
Along the perimeter of the dance floor we scattered high-top tables topped with more silk table runners and textured gold candleholders.
The wedding cake featured alternating layers of vanilla cake with tiramisu filling, and chocolate cake with peanut butter cream filling (YUM!!) frosted with buttercream, adorned with gold and sage fondant polka dots, and topped with fresh daisies. (Cake courtesy of Catering by the Family!)
Guests enjoyed heavy hors d’oeuvres including seared tuna canapés, bacon-wrapped plantains, grilled vegetables, carved tenderloin, chef-tossed pasta, coconut shrimp, and more. (Shout Out to the awesome staff at Catering by the Family - you ROCK!) The bar offered the bride and groom’s signature drink - a ‘hard’ Arnold Palmer (sweet tea vodka mixed with lemonade)- served in glass drink dispensers.
And who could forget the bride and groom’s choreographed first dance. You couldn’t keep them off the dance floor the rest of the night (along with nearly all of the guests!)
While signing the pop-up guest book, guests enjoyed a collage of pictures of the bride and groom. Guests were treated to bamboo fans and mini organza bags of M&M candies as favors before departing.
