I simply adore this couple. They were wed this Saturday at the Davis Islands Garden Club, and I’d been referring to this event as my vintage-inspired, shabby-chic, peonies, pearls, and lace wedding. This wedding was full of creative and homespun touches. Without further ado, enjoy this gorgeous wedding!
The bride wore a fit and flare lace accented gown from Watters & Watters and carried a bouquet of pink peonies, wrapped with her grandmother’s vintage handkerchief and a brooch with a picture of her late grandparents inside. The groom sported a mini pink peony boutonniere. (Personal flowers by Arlene Floral Designer)
They walked down an aisle lined with mason jars filled with pink and white waxflower and white button mums. The gazebo was framed with white dogwood branches. Bridesmaids wore fawn colored silk dresses from JCrew and carried hydrangea bouquets.
After the ceremony, guests enjoyed bar offerings including citrus-infused water, classic mojitos, and dogfish head 60 minute IPA, complete with handmade stir sticks with the couple’s initials and “DRINK and be married.” Tables were decorated with framed pictures of the bride and groom’s parents and grandparents wedding pictures.
The escort card display featured a white shutter door draped with lace fabric, with the folded cards tucked into the slats.
Dining tables were clustered under towering oak trees with suspended glass lanterns. Tables were draped with taupe linens and white lace doilies anchoring the centerpieces of ceramic pitchers filled with snowball hydrangea, surrounded by glass votive candles and mini ceramic cups cradling pink tea roses, white lilies, and football mums. Framed table numbers were accented with strings of pearls. The dinner menu was etched on a chalkboard propped on an easel. (Catering by the Family provided the delicious food)
The wedding cake (provided by Publix Greenwise) featured three tiers of quilted fondant accented with buttercream “pearls” and pink tea roses.
At the end of the evening, the bride and groom were sent off via water-taxi down the Hillsborough River.
